Blitz Upload Example (API with no parameters) – Oracle EBS SQL Report
Oracle E-Business Suite SQL report from the Enginatics Library powered by Blitz Report™.
Overview
Example upload, which can be used as a template by copying (Tools>Copy Report) to create new uploads using an API with no parameters. This API will be called just once by the upload framework and all the uploaded records can be accessed within the API by selecting them from the Data View eg: select * from xxen_blitz_upload_examp_9718u xu where xu.status_code=xxen_upload.status_valid

Running This SQL Without Blitz Report
The SQL source can be run in any SQL client. Some Oracle EBS SQL reports in this library use functions from the utility package xxen_util – install it first. Blitz Report™ adds parameters, Excel output with pivots, scheduling and security on top.

Executive Summary
This report serves as a template and example for creating Blitz Report uploads that utilize an API without requiring any input parameters. It demonstrates how to configure an upload that triggers a single API call to process all uploaded records, which are accessible via a specific view.
Business Challenge
Developers often need to create custom data upload processes that involve complex logic or API interactions. Starting from scratch can be time-consuming and prone to configuration errors. There is a need for a clear, working example that shows how to set up an API-based upload where the processing logic handles the entire dataset in one go.
Solution
The “Blitz Upload Example (API with no parameters)” provides a pre-configured template that developers can copy and adapt. It illustrates the mechanism where the upload framework calls the API once, and the API logic retrieves the uploaded data from a generated view (e.g., xxen_blitz_upload_examp_9718_u). This simplifies the development of bulk processing uploads.
Key Features
- Template for Custom Uploads: Designed to be copied and modified for specific requirements.
- Single API Call Model: Demonstrates the “API with no parameters” pattern where the API runs once per upload.
- Data Access via View: Shows how to access uploaded records using the automatically generated view.
- Status Filtering: Includes an example of filtering for valid records (
status_code = xxen_upload.status_valid).
Technical Details
The example uses the xxen_upload_example table. The core concept is the interaction between the upload framework and the custom API, where the API logic selects data from a dynamic view (e.g., xxen_blitz_upload_examp_..._u) to perform bulk operations.
