AR Autoinvoice Interface – Oracle EBS SQL Report
Oracle E-Business Suite SQL report from the Enginatics Library powered by Blitz Report™. Oracle EBS module: Receivables · all Receivables reports
Overview
Lines in the Autoinvoice interface table, one row per interface line, with all errors of the line from the last Autoinvoice run concatenated in Error Messages and Invalid Values.
Interface Line Id is assigned by Autoinvoice, so lines that it has not picked up yet have none and cannot have errors.
With Show Distributions and Sales Credits, each line is repeated per interface distribution and sales credit, and its quantity, amount and Line Count of 1 are shown on the first of these rows only.
The template Autoinvoice Interface Summary totals the lines per operating unit, batch source, context, error messages and request.

Case Study & Technical Analysis: AR Autoinvoice Interface
Executive Summary
This report lists the lines in the Receivables AutoInvoice interface table, RA_INTERFACE_LINES_ALL, one row per interface line, together with every error recorded against that line by the last AutoInvoice run. It is built for Receivables accounting teams and order management support staff who need to find out why invoice lines did not import, which batch source and context they came from, and which request produced them. The Autoinvoice Interface Summary template totals the lines per operating unit, batch source, context, error message and request.
Business Challenge
- Invoices stuck in the interface: Lines that fail AutoInvoice stay in the interface tables, and the period cannot be closed cleanly while they remain there.
- Error messages spread over several rows: A single line can have several validation errors, and they must be read together to understand the cause.
The Solution
- Reads each interface line from
RA_INTERFACE_LINES_ALLwith its operating unit, batch source, interface line context, transaction type, bill-to customer, item and amounts. - Aggregates the errors per line from
RA_INTERFACE_ERRORS_ALL, giving an error count, the concatenated error messages and the concatenated invalid values. - Shows Processed as Yes only for lines whose interface status is P, so processed and unprocessed lines can be told apart.
- Optionally repeats each line per interface distribution and sales credit, and shows quantity, amount and a Line Count of 1 only on the first of those rows, so totals are not double counted.
Technical Architecture (High Level)
Primary Tables
RA_INTERFACE_LINES_ALL: the AutoInvoice interface lines, with batch source, context, sales order, transaction and amount data.RA_INTERFACE_ERRORS_ALL: the validation errors and invalid values recorded against interface lines.RA_CUST_TRX_TYPES_ALL: the transaction types, used to show the transaction type name.HZ_CUST_ACCOUNTSandHZ_PARTIES: the bill-to customer account and party.MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_VL: the item description and concatenated item segments.HR_ALL_ORGANIZATION_UNITS_VL: the operating unit name.MO_GLOB_ORG_ACCESS_TMPandDUAL: the operating units the user may access.
Logical Relationships
- The operating units are restricted to those the user can access through
MO_GLOB_ORG_ACCESS_TMP, with the current org added for release 11. RA_INTERFACE_LINES_ALLis joined to the operating unit on ORG_ID.- An inline view aggregates
RA_INTERFACE_ERRORS_ALLby interface line, using a running length check on the message text. - Transaction type, bill-to account and party are outer joined, so lines without these values still appear.
- The item is resolved from
MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_VLon inventory item and warehouse, falling back to the master organization of the operating unit.
Parameters & Filtering
- Operating Unit: limits the lines to one operating unit.
- Batch Source and Interface Line Context: select the feeder of the lines.
- Request Id: shows the lines processed by one AutoInvoice request.
- Sales Order: finds the interface lines of a sales order.
- Creation Date From and Creation Date To: bound the creation date of the lines.
- Errors Only: restricts the output to lines that have errors.
- Show Distributions and Sales Credits: expands each line into its interface distribution and sales credit rows.
- Show Age: adds an age column to the output, as offered by the parameter.
Performance & Optimization
- The error aggregation is done in a single inline view grouped by interface line, so each line receives one row in the join.
- Running sums of message and invalid value lengths are kept per line, and a message or invalid value is left out of the concatenation once the running total would exceed 4000 bytes, which keeps the LISTAGG output within the limit.
- Distribution expansion is applied only when the distribution option is set, and quantity and amount are shown on one row per line through ROW_NUMBER.
FAQ
Q: How do I find out why AutoInvoice rejected a line? A: Run the report with Errors Only set to Yes. The Error Messages and Invalid Values columns show each error message and the value that failed validation.
Q: How can I see the lines that an AutoInvoice request picked up? A: Enter the Request Id. Lines with a blank Interface Line Id have not yet been picked up by AutoInvoice and cannot have errors.
Q: Why does a line appear more than once? A: With Show Distributions and Sales Credits set, each line is repeated for each interface distribution and sales credit. Quantity, amount and Line Count are shown only on the first of these rows.
